The graduate student research journal of the Department of Spanish and
Portuguese at UC Santa Barbara is soliciting papers for its forthcoming 2003
publication. The issue will focus on performance and spectatorship in Hispanic
and Lusophone film and literature. Interdisciplinary studies and approaches are
especially welcome.

Essays for Encyclopedia

Contributors are needed to write short essays (ranging from 500 to 2000
words) on these topics:

David Antin (500 words)
Caribbean Poetic Influences (2000 words)
Pat Mora (500 words)
New York School (2000 words)
Vikram Seth (500 words).

The essays are for a volume entitled A Companion to Twentieth-Century
American Poetry (to be published in June 2004 by Facts on File, Inc., a
publisher that enjoys very wide distribution in libraries, colleges and high
schools, as well as bookstores).

To celebrate the one hundredth anniversary of the writing of Joyce¹s
ŒDubliners¹, submissions are sought for two proposed volumes.

Call for Papers

We are organizing panels and seeking papers for them on Asian
literature, including Asian film, for the 9th International Conference
on Intercultural Communication to be held at California State
University, Fullerton, July 24-28, 2003. Papers on any topic relevant
to Asian literature and film are invited, but we are particularly
interested in those which focus on over-crossing phenomena in Asian
literature and film, such as:

International relationships
Inter-Asian influences
Literary affinities between the old and new
Intertextuality

CFP: _Women's Studies: An Interdisciplinary Journal_

_Women's Studies: An Interdisciplinary Journal_ is currently accepting
manuscripts for publication. Women's Studies provides a forum for the
presentation of scholarship and criticism about women in the fields of
literature, history, art, sociology, law, political science, economics,
anthropology and the sciences. It also publishes poetry, film and book
reviews.

Inquistive, original, well-researched manuscripts on any of the
aforementioned humanities topics or any new topics are encouraged.

 AMERICAN@ is a peer reviewed e-journal dedicated to American Cultural and
Literary Studies. It hopes to provide an intellectual canvas where the
cultural spaces and experiences of American Studies are theorized and
rigorously explored within both global and local contingencies of the
present and the past.

 AMERICAN@ accepts submissions from all research fields related with

contributes to public debates. JASAL welcomes review articles (up to 4000
words) and responses to previously published material (up to 2000 words).
