Panel: Blake's Visionary London

Keeping with the conference theme of "Reading the Regions/Writing the
Regions/Teaching the Regions," this panel, "Blake's Visionary London,"
will focus upon Blake's imaginative reconstruction, critique, and
interpretation of the London of his times in his mythological works.
Papers reflecting a rigorous and critical historical methodology will be
given special consideration.

Call For Papers for Shakespeare, the journal of
the British Shakespeare Association
 
Contributions are invited for the 2006 and 2007 issues
of the new journal entitled Shakespeare being published
Routledge. The journal brings together Shakespeare
scholarship and Shakespeare in performance in order
to open newly emergent debates across disciplines,
and is published online twice a year and in a bound paper volume
comprising two issues once a year. Contributions on all
topics and approaches to Shakespeare will be
considered. The articles selected will be peer-reviewed.

We invite papers that are creative nonfiction for the 37th Annual meeting of the CEA. The conference title is "Reading the Regions/Writing the Regions/Teaching the Regions." The idea of a region ought to be as creative as possible, because there are many different kinds of regions. We are looking for both the edgy and the traditional, with writers taking risks in their creative writing.

This special issue seeks essays on book-length works composed in the medium of comics. The emergence of graphic narratives-also called "graphic novels"-combines a sophisticated and experimental awareness of form with a powerful political awareness of comics as a mass medium. The book publication of Art Spiegelman's _Maus: A Survivor's Tale_ brought graphic narratives to the academy; in the two decades since the publication of the first volume of Maus, the field of graphic narratives has expanded significantly.

?There can be no reflexive life without theory,? writes Terry Eagleton.
With this in mind, we are seeking papers that use theory to provide new
ideas and insights into human experience.

Peace Review is looking for Book Reviewers for each of its quarterly
issues. Our book reviews are generally short (usually 2000 words),
although we're also interested in book review essays (of two or more
books), which can run 3500 words. The reviews will appear in our
Recommended Book section, and thus we're looking for positive reviews
(although flaws should obviously also be mentioned, if appropriate).

Peace Review is also looking for books to review, in the general
category of peace and justice studies. If you have published a book,
and are looking for a review, then please send (or have your publisher
send) us a copy of the book.
