The aim of this small symposium is to invent a critical program equal to
the task of interpreting The Big Lebowski (1998) and addressing the
Lebowski cult that has quickly grown in its wake, both the legions of

For the MLA's Options for Teaching series, the Publications Committee has approved development of the volume Teaching Literature and Law, edited by Austin Sarat, Cathrine Frank, and Matthew Anderson. As currently projected, the volume has four sections: 1) theory and history of the Law and Literature movement, 2) model courses, 3) texts, and 4) resources. Submissions are welcome from faculty in diverse fields (i.e., literatures in English and other languages, law, art, film, history, philosophy, and the social sciences).
