Call for Papers: 'Fin de Siecle' seminar, 1870-1920

The University of Oxford 'Fin de Siecle' seminar invites proposals for 45- to
50-minute papers on any aspect of literature, society and the arts in Britain
during the period between 1870 and 1920. Proposals for papers with an
international dimension will be considered.

Now in its sixth year, the seminar is a lively forum in which graduates
and established academics discuss fresh perspectives on turn-of-the-century
culture. It attracts attention from a broad community of researchers both
within and outside Oxford, who value its rigorous scholarly discussion.
Recent papers have examined such diverse subjects as:

Second Call for Papers for book, On Joanna Russ, edited by Farah
Mendlesohn, to be published by Wesleyan University Press in 2006.

This is a re-opening of a call for papers on the work of Joanna Russ.
The current state of the project is that all the spaces for essays on
Russ's critical work have been filled.

I am looking for up to six papers on Joanna Russ's fiction, each of
between six and seven thousand words long.

Abstracts should be sent to: farah.sf_at_gmail.com by June 30.

The deadline for the completion of accepted articles will be October 31st 2006.

The International Journal of Motorcycle Studies (IJMS) is dedicated to the
study and discussion of motorcycling culture in all its forms and from all
over the world-including moped/scooter, street and racetrack, and
off-road/dirt bikes as well as every aspect of motorcycle culture past,
present and future. We hope the journal provides further opportunities to
explore these issues. The inaugural issue was published online in March,

reinscribe, cross, blur, deconstruct, or transgress geographical,
historical, cultural, and/or ideological regions.

Shakespeare Bulletin seeks essays for a special issue dedicated to
the Shakespearean still image, broadly defined. In accordance with
SB's performance-focused interest in theatre history, contemporary
performance, and film, we seek a range of articles that take
divergent approaches to stillness and the still in relation to
performance: performance-related woodcuts or drawings; stillness and
stasis in theatrical performance or film ("frozen" moments;
tableaux); the photographic still in theatre or film.
