   Authors are encouraged to submit papers to the Performance Studies Interest Group. Papers may include research reports employing any methodology, theoretical developments or critiques, and critical analyses. Work that integrates a creative approach to scholarly endeavors is especially encouraged.
   Competitive papers should not have been presented previously at another conference, be accepted for publication, or have been published.

"Nations Speaking: Indigenous Performances Across the Americas"
(Tentative Title)

Baylor Journal of Theatre and Performance seeks essays for a special

issue, to be guest-edited by Christy Stanlake. We welcome essays that

explore performance in, and performative aspects of, the indigenous

communities of the Americas, including North, Central, and South

America. Over the past two decades, American Indian theatre has been

actively growing, at both a grassroots level and in professional

theatre. Along with the increase in theatrical work has been a growing

By identifying an innovative and neglected area of research, this potential
edited collection proposes to bring together academic works, which seek to
reveal and analyse hidden and implicit narratives within a design context.

explore the notion of alternative narratives embodied within an everyday lived
 experience of design, radically forging together the disparate spheres of
screen and visual studies with those of art and design.

Michel Foucault’s last works tell us that parrhesia is the act of
fearlessly speaking the truth.To engage in parrhesia is never, however, a
‘neutral’ act. Parrhesia simultaneously incorporates aesthetic and
ethical dimensions. The parrhesiast is someone whose fidelity to the truth
becomes the pivot of a process of self-transformation.
