announce that it is hosting the Australia and New Zealand Association
for American Studies Conference in 2008. ANZASA brings together scholars
from Australia and New Zealand with colleagues who specialise in
American Studies from around the world for a major conference held every
two years.

Prophecy 2007 is an academic symposium about the Harry Potter series by J.K.
Rowling. We are seeking proposals for a variety of educational programming,
including presentations, discussion panels, round tables, workshops and
poster sessions addressing topics relevant to the books and/or the fan
community. Possible topics include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. The Journal of Humanities is a purely academic journal sponsored =
by the College of Liberal Arts of National Central University. As of =
July 2007 it will become a quarterly journal, with issues appearing in =
January, April, July, and October.

2. The main goal of the journal is to promote =
=A1=A7interdepartmental, interdisciplinary, and intercultural=A1=A8 =
humanities research, and we welcome contributions from domestic and =
foreign scholars on related topics in literature, history, philosophy, =

Press Americana, the press of Americana: The Institute for the Study of
American Popular Culture, seeks a few exceptional essays examining American
film to round out a forthcoming book collection. Essays should be
approximately 5000-8000 words and in MLA format. We are open to a variety of
styles and approaches. Essays to date have analyzed a single film, but again
we are open to any analytical essay examining American film. Please email
