Literature and Politics Panel

South Central Modern Language Association (SCMLA)

2007 Conference in Memphis, Tennessee

November 1-3

The Literature and Politics Panel welcomes 500 word abstracts/proposals for
its 2007 Conference in Memphis, Tennessee. The theme of the conference is
"Currents."

Paper topics for the panel are open; however, I am particularly interested
in essays dealing with the following themes:

Queer, Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transsexual, Transgender or Intersexual
Politics in Literature

Marxist & Neo-Marxist Politics in Literature

Ambiguous and Contradicting Politics in Literature

Please note that the deadline for submissions has been extended to April
1, 2007.
