2/14/07-2/18/07)
This panel for the Southern American Studies Association
conference will explore filmic intersections between the
culture of the U.S. South and the cultures of other
locations around the globe. Among many potential topics,
papers might investigate invocations of the American South
in films produced outside the U.S. or they might explore how
films set in the American South represent, reflect, or
sublimate multicultural interactions within the region.
