St. Francis College is pleased to announce the publication of The Arthur
Miller Journal. Inaugural Issue, Spring 2006.

The Arthur Miller Journal will provide a lasting legacy to Miller's
significant contribution to American drama. The journal will be
published twice yearly under the auspices of the English Department of
St. Francis College, Brooklyn Heights, in cooperation with the Arthur
Miller Society. We welcome essays on any aspect of Miller's life, work,
and career. Of particular interest for the first edition are essays that
evaluate the scope of Miller's eight decades of writing and his
connection to other playwrights. We also invite book, production, and
performance reviews.

SHAKESPEARE BULLETIN, a journal for the study of Shakespeare and
renaissance drama in performance, announces a conference to be held on
the University of Toronto campus, November 8-12, 2006.

Subjectivity and Community in Ethnic American Women's Memoir

Revised due date.

Papers may analyze how Ethnic American women use memoir to claim
subjectivity and join communities. Papers could explore how writers use
memoir to achieve self-actualization; claim subjectivity; and reconcile
their personal and community identities. Papers could also explore how
Ethnic American women manipulate conventional narrative forms (i.e., slave
narratives, travel narratives, and the autobiographical novel) to claim
subjectivity and to gain access to both the publishing community and
mainstream American society.
