  The terms "literature" and "visual art" are traditionally
  associated with high culture, but they should probably
  be uncapitalized for this conference, where we encourage
  discussion of work on the margins of these categories.
   
  Often there are presentations on book illustrations, but
  recently the trend of presentations has turned to literature/
  film crossovers (as in BRIDE AND PREDJUDICE and
  MACBOOL) and even comic books (the SPIDER-MAN:
  INDIA series). We have had presentations on novels

COMPETITIVE PAPERS
Authors are encouraged to submit papers to the Performance Studies Interest
Group. Papers may include research reports employing any methodology,
theoretical developments or critiques, and critical analyses. Work that
integrates a creative approach to scholarly endeavors is especially encouraged.

Competitive papers should not have been presented previously at another
conference, be accepted for publication, or have been published.
