Call For Papers – ReFocus: The Films of David Mamet
We are seeking abstracts of 250-500 words for essays to be included in a book-length anthology on David Mamet to appear in late 2022. We have received a number of strong proposals already, but looking for a few more to add to the volume’s lineup. The intended scope of the work is to analyze Mamet’s unique position as an artist of note in both the theatre and the cinema, as well as his very specific ideas about dramatic structure, performance style, and economical visual storytelling. It will argue, for the first time, that Mamet’s film work is an essential, but underappreciated dimension of his artistic career.
We seek submissions for The Feminist Playbook: Classroom Activities for Intersectional Pedagogy—an edited book collection of interdisciplinary, feminist lesson plans intended for any higher-eduction class where learning happens outside of the gender box. We are currently in discussion with Routledge and CRC press about publishing this professional resource for faculty and instructors teaching in colleges and universities.
To this end, we are seeking proposals that describe an active learning lesson that ahderes to at least one tenent of feminist pedagogy:

Inside the Anthropocene: Critical Media Literacy & the SARS-CoV2 Pandemic
SARS-CoV2 has created a global health emergency with real human cost that has also manifested as a media spectacle. This special issue will focus on the ways many different media platforms work as a kind of cultural pedagogy, a pedagogy that depends on the replication and distribution of certain forms of biopolitical power.
Novitas-ROYAL is open access, peer-reviewed, international journal of Children’s Research Center. It is devoted to promoting scholarly exchange among researchers who are academically interested in the education of youth with a focus on teaching, learning, acquisition, and use of second/foreign languages, any issues related to linguistics and language sciences, cultures, and literatures. The primary aim of the journal is to help accumulate knowledge of how foreign languages, cultures, and literatures have the potential to change the lives of students. The journal is only electronic (no print version). It is biannually published in April and October.
The geopolitical space called ‘South Asia’ has resulted in a literature that is the product of various forms of contact i.e. travel, pilgrimage, colonization, trade etc. Social movements and historical changes have triggered transformations globally and it reinvigorated the ongoing dialogue regarding the true interpretation of South Asian literature. Philosophers like Merleau Ponty (phenomenologist), Martin Buber (existentialist) or Bakhtin all helped in reconceptualised understanding of human relations and thereby, in turn leading to a greater understanding of South Asian literature from newer and emerging perspectives.

The Twentieth century saw the rapid development of the city and its impact on the socio-cultural fabric of nations manifested in the social and cultural ways of living. The city came to be represented as an urban wasteland and the loss and moving away from the pastoral was eulogised in many texts. These texts looked into the anonymity of the individual in the milieu of the city where the older closed bonds of the familiar rural community got replaced by the unfamiliar existence. The village was seen as an idyllic space nurturing the humans towards an organic and symbiotic coexistence and ways of living.
