University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee seeks submissions for a two-day graduate
student conference focusing on the theme "Performing (In)Visibility."

For a panel to be proposed for the 2007 Society for Cinema and Media
Studies conference, we invite proposals for presentations interrogating
the work of Slavoj Zizek in relation to film and media
studies--especially as this involves the year's conference plenary
theme ("Media in the Public Sphere").

Writing Landscape
An Inter-disciplinary Symposium for Scholars in the Arts and Humanities
Supported by the Arts and Humanities Research Council

We invite proposals for papers at an inter-disciplinary one-day symposium on
'Writing Landscape'. The symposium will explore the relationship between
landscape and creative writing, paying particular attention to the process of
writing and reading. The symposium would appeal to scholars from a range of
disciplines, including literary studies, geography, cultural studies, history,
gender studies, creative writing and philosophy.

Submissions are currently being solicited for an edited collection of=20
articles about print culture and the Cold War. The editors of this=20
anthology seek work by historians of the book and print culture, as=20
well as scholars from disciplines across the academy who are pursuing=20
work in the history of the book and/or the history of the Cold War.
