Biography, Criticism, Culture: Robert Penn Warren's Nonfiction Works

We invite proposals for papers addressing any and all of Robert Penn Warren's nonfiction works. Subjects may include but are not limited to Warren's biographical books, literary criticism articles, and cultural studies. Abstracts of approximately 100 to 250 words should be submitted by e-mail to Keri Overall at

Brown and the Bayou: Politics, Writing, and Borderlands in the
Postrevolutionary Circumatlantic World

 

The Charles Brockden Brown Society invites submissions for its fifth
biennial international conference to be held at the Chateau LeMoyne Hotel in
New Orleans's famed French Quarter, November 2-4, 2006. Conference
organizers' determination of the conference site was in place prior to the
devastation suffered as a result of Hurricane Katrina. Their decision to
persist in these plans reflects not only a desire to extend commercial
support, no matter how small, for the region's rebuilding efforts and
"rebirth,"

The Hemingway Society is extending its deadline for submission for papers
for two sessions at the May 2006 ALA conference.

We are particularly interested in papers considering the following topics,
but welcome proposals on all topics and from all critical and theoretical
approaches.

1. Hemingway and Consumerism

2. Hemingway and Contemporary Writers

Proposals should be submitted via email to hjustic_at_ilstu.edu by January 15,
2006 and should include a one-page abstract and an academic vita.

American literature for the 2006 RMMLA (Tucson, Arizona
October 12-14, 2006). Paper proposals of 300-words are due to session
chairs by March 1, 2006.

Please note: RMMLA is an organization for its members. You are asked
to be current in your dues by April 1 to attend the convention,
present a paper, and have your name included in the convention

The Margaret Fuller Society invites proposals on any aspect of Margaret
Fuller's work. Especially welcome would be proposals that consider: Fuller
and other 19th-century women writers, Fuller's model of history, Fuller in
New York, Fuller's discourses of liberation, Fuller and Mickiewicz or
Mazzini, Fuller and 19th-century aesthetic theories.
