“The sense of belonging that Bollywood films foster -
the sheer sense of security and shared joy, … the
commonality of experience despite the geographical
separation of so many thousands of miles - is second
to none. It works more because Bollywood is one of the
things that bind us together as Indians, never mind
where we live.”

spectatorial eye via the ear?

Defining the Americas: Media Within/Across Borders
The history of the American continents has long been one of establishing and
crossing borders. From pre-colonial times to the present, people and

national or other boundaries.

Superhuman, Supernatural, Superlative, or Simply Super Entertainment? :
Contemporary forms and conditions of entertainment media
Materiality aside, the entertainment media possess a refractory
nature: they are often obstinate, stubborn, wayward, perverse, and
disobedient, refusing to be pinned down by critical responses that
seek to homogenize their nature. For this special issue of the

end--though its endless reproduction in syndication seems inevitable--it
seem appropriate to produce an anthology that evaluate the multifaceted
influences and implications of Oprah.
