GRETA Journal, Revista para Profesores de Inglés (ISSN 1989-7146), is preparing the publication of its 22nd volume. GRETA Journal publishes manuscripts on English Language Teaching Methodology. The objective of the journal is to bridge the gap between the field of Applied Linguistics and class praxis. Other fundamental goals include providing updated information about the latest trends, techniques, materials, and methodologies employed in EFL teaching and to exchange experiences and publications between research teams both on a national and international level.
Part travelogue, part professional reflection, this book will be a peer-reviewed anthology of original composition--narratives, interviews, field observations, formal academic writing--about teaching outside one’s country of origin as a person of African descent. The book seeks to augment the voices--and use print publication to promote the career advancement--of black educators who may otherwise not have access to either. In addition to parity, the publication will celebrate the unique perspectives and creative problem-solving that evolve from Africana or black cultural ways of knowing and teaching in intercultural context. Topical considerations may include a variety of impressions about instruction, pedagogy, and institutional leadership.
The “Teaching with Media and Technology” session welcomes proposals on any topic related to the use of media and technology in any modern language, composition, or literature classroom. However, we are particularly interested in papers that engage this year’s conference theme "The Sense of Sight: Visuality, Visibility, and Ways of Seeing."
Individual paper presentations will be between 15 and 20 minutes long. Please submit proposals via the online system by May 21, 2017. The PAMLA 2017 Conference will be held at the lovely Chaminade University of Honolulu (with the official conference hotel being the Ala Moana) from Friday, November 10 to Sunday, November 12.

However, we are particularly interested in papers that engage this year’s conference theme "The Sense of Sight: Visuality, Visibility, and Ways of Seeing."

How have place-based rhetorical strategies re-imagined how we see the composition classroom, both as a physical space and a cultural space? This special session welcomes critical perspectives on place within composition pedagogy to re-inform classroom practices.
This session is also interested in papers that specifically focus on this year's theme of sight, visuality, and ways of seeing.

Haunt Journal of Art is a vessel for critical interrogations of writing as both a tool for artistic expression and a means for analyzing creative practices. Call for Papers: The Aesthetics and Ethics of Teaching Writing
We invite proposals for participation in a series of discussions on the topic of “The Aesthetics and Ethics of Teaching Writing.” We invite participants from all disciplines to propose brief presentations on the significant intersections between aesthetic principles, ethics, and practice as faculty committed to the value of writing pedagogy. Presentations or proposals that consider or deploy interdisciplinary approaches, creative-critical hybrid strategies, or alternative methods are welcome.
The Cormac McCarthy Society invites paper proposals for its Fall 2017 Conference, to be held Sept. 1-3 in Austin, Texas. Based on the new, exciting Nautilus essay, we have decided to extend the submission deadline to April 30, 2017.
Papers on all topics relating to the works of Cormac McCarthy, from all perspectives, are invited, including considerations of theatrical productions or film adaptations of his work, pedagogical approaches, and the relationship of McCarthy’s work to other authors or artists.

Humanities have long since recognized the importance of critical reading and thinking, or the ability for students to engage in higher-order thinking skills to analyze, synthesize, and evaluate texts and ideas. Urban decline is conventionally framed as a devastating process both for the physical fabric as well as for the social structure of urban communities. Particularly in mass media and popular culture, the common representation of declining urban spaces is dominated by images of physical decay and destitute people as well as narratives of social failure, lack of morality, and crime. These spaces and communities are thus presented as having little to nothing to offer with respect to educational achievement, creative expressivity and intellectual development.
We are looking for new takes on Flannery O'Connor and her work for a panel at the SCMLA in Tulsa Oct 5-8.

The Arts & Humanities in the academy are in a critical juncture in its history. As we progress further into the digital age, colleges and universities are gradually adopting new policies and new programs and college-wide initiatives to foster research and teaching that addresses both technological and societal changes as well as economic and industry demands. Simultaneously, these departments are facing new or ongoing financial restraints and students, faculty, and practitioners alike confront new, real world obstacles in their respective markets.
For its next edition, FINE would like to invite practitioners, educators, teachers, students and scientists to submit their work on the following broad topics:
The journal encourages the sharing of ideas from a wide spectrum of disciplines and educational practitioiners, specialists and researchers. The articles are peer reviewed using a double-blind peer-review process (at least two anonymous reviewers).

We are soliciting submissions for a special issue in Feminist Teacher focusing on pedagogies employed by women of color while in graduate school. Often, we do not critically engage with the formative processes and experiences that shape our future teaching praxis. This issue focuses on how we learn from our successes and failures in the classroom including women of color’s creation of supportive mentoring and peer networks. We envision these essays serving as touchstone in the ongoing conversations on how women of color survive and thrive in the academy.
