QED: A Journal in GLBTQ Worldmaking (published 3 times/yr.) brings together scholars, activists, public intellectuals, artists, and policy and culture makers to discuss and mobilize issues and initiatives that matter to the diverse lived experience, struggle, and transformation of LGBTQ peoples and communities wherever they may be. With an emphasis on worldmaking praxis, QED welcomes theory, criticism, history, policy analysis, public argument, and creative exhibition, seeking to foster intellectual and activist work through essays, commentaries, interviews, roundtable discussions, and book and event reviews. Our use of the term “worldmaking” is much more deliberate in its derivation.

Queen City Writers is a refereed journal that publishes essays and multimedia work by undergraduate students affiliated with any post-secondary institution. We are currently seeking submissions for upcoming issues; we operate on a rolling deadline basis and will consider students’ works as we receive them.
From Donna Haraway’s “Cyborg” to Rosie Bradiotti’s “Vitruvian woman,” posthuman studies and feminist studies have both used images of the female body as tangible metaphors in order to disrupt and critique boundaries and binaries. This roundtable will explore 20th and 21st century literature that illuminates the entanglement and correspondence between posthuman and feminist discourses, specifically in the notion of the female or post-gender body.

The economic realities facing today’s undergraduate population have led to a proliferation of enrollments into PhD programs. The unfortunate reality is that the majority of these neophyte graduate students are waiting for jobs that are either no longer available or never existed in the first place. Concurrently, for right or wrong, in US colleges and universities at all levels, adjunct and contingent faculty members are no longer in the minority. These part-time and non-tenure track (NTT) instructors outnumber their tenured and tenure-track counterparts at many two-year and four-year institutions.
Please submit 200 to 300-word abstracts, with title, for 15-minute papers/presentations on pedagogical approaches to grading multimodal assignments.

We are currently seeking proposals for a 5,000-word essay specifically focused on kink and graphic texts: graphic novels, comics, manga, etc. Proposals should explore both the kink and the graphic text(s) by engaging theoretical frameworks such as psychoanalysis, queer theory, rhetoric, and/or feminist theory.
The special panel "On Presence, Rhetorical and Divine: Reading the Wor(l)d of God" seeks papers on rhetorics of the eighteenth century that address the central role of divine and natural interpretations of theology, nature, or lived experience. Close to 100 years ago, T. F. Tout was able to claim in his magisterial six-volume study of England’s letter-writing offices that the administrative history of thirteenth- and fourteenth-century England was "largely unwritten.” Within the last ten or twenty years, however, historians have undertaken socio-cultural studies of medieval bureaucracy and its personnel, moving from prosopographical and biographical sketches to nuanced examinations of the experience and challenges of bureaucratic employment throughout Europe.
It is hard to exaggerate the novelty of English Treasurer Richard fitz Nigel’s Dialogue of the Exchequer, completed c. 1179. Often considered Europe’s first administrative manual, it required the invention of a new genre, the systematic thinking-through of collected bureaucratic knowledge and its categorization and organization. Successive generations of historians have mined this text for data about England’s taxation office and common law, but it has more to offer researchers of bureaucratic and institutional culture, medieval identity formation, and intertextuality.

While scholars often note that Hoccleve’s and Langland’s poetic personae each make the other more understandable, rarely have these poets been analyzed together in great detail. Thus, with this session, The International Hoccleve Society and International Piers Plowman Society seek to provide an occasion to do so. The Societies invite paper submissions that examine the ways interpretive discourses around Hoccleve’s and Langland’s works overlap and intersect.
