The Graduate Comics Organization at the University of Florida invites applicants from all stages of their careers, including independent scholars and imagetext creators, to submit proposals to the 15th UF Conference on Comics and Graphic Novels, “ImageTech: Comics and Materiality.” The conference will be held from Friday, April 6 through Sunday, April 8, 2018. Keynote speakers include Dr. Anastasia Salter (University of Central Florida) and Dr. Mita Mahato (University of Puget Sound).

The second annual Central Illinois Interdisciplinary Graduate Conference, hosted by the Society of English Graduate Scholars, is now accepting presentation proposals. This year’s conference theme is “Our Stories.” The conference will be held at Illinois State University, March 23 & 24 2018.

Digital Peer Review, Public Writing, and Scholarly Communication in Undergraduate Teaching

This will be submitted as an “Innovative Proposal” special session.  Depending on the abstracts received, the final form of the session might take a Speed Geeking or PechaKucha format.  Please note that as a special session, our acceptance is in no way guaranteed and the process is highly competitive.  The deadline to submit special session proposals to the MLA Program Committee is April 1, and we would be notified of our status in early June.

The Journal of Communications Media Studies is broad in focus and welcomes submissions on a variety of communication topics including (but not limited to) mass communication, international communication, educational technology, rhetorical studies, and organizational/corporate communication. Article submissions should be directed to Editor Zack Stiegler (stiegler@iup.edu) for consideration. All article submissions undergo double blind peer review.
