CFP: All's Well that ends Well (June 30/04; abstracts or proposals for a
volume of essays in major series)

I am looking for proposals and abstracts (not full papers at this stage) for
consideration for an edited volume on Shakespeare's All's Well that Ends
Well. A session at the 2006 SAA meeting in Philadelphia will also be
proposed. Proposals and Abstracts can be fairly informal but preferable
should be about 500 words and should be sent by June 30, 2004. Deadline for
accepted proposals will be Summer 2005.

I am seeking abstracts to include in an initial proposal for an edited volume on *Macbeth.* Should my proposal be accepted, the book will constitute part of an established series of critical essays on individual works by Shakespeare, several of which have already been published and enjoy wide distribution. I have the backing of the general editor of the series for this proposal. The deadline for submission of abstracts is 23 May.

Shakespeare Bulletin, the newly refashioned journal of performance criticism
and scholarship, is seeking articles of 3,000-7,500 words on all aspects of
Renaissance drama on stage. Essays should show awareness of current
theoretical debate on matters of performance and should not, ideally, be
simply readings of productions, except in so far as the arguments presented
point beyond the given production. Articles may be historicist or

Breaking the Bounds II: Postcolonial British Stages
Post war it was class which broke the bounds of the British stage; in the 60s
and after it was gender. Increasingly it is the theatre of the Other which is
seen as interesting. This critical anthology aims to publish essays on
postcolonial theatre in Britain. Essays are invited which critically analyze and
evaluate twentieth century British Black and Asian drama. Abstracts of 500 words
and a short biography of the author are invited by 15 March 2004. Abstracts by

Florida Atlantic Comparative Studies is currently accepting submissions for
its upcoming issue focused on the topic of "Performing Culture." Although
papers using comparative methodologies are of particular interest, all
methodologies and approaches are welcomed. Possible topics and/or approaches

COLLECTION OF ESSAYS ON HANIF KUREISHI

Contributors are sought for a collection of original essays on Hanif
Kureishi's writing and filmmaking. The deadline for 500-word abstracts is
10th November 2003. It is intended that the volume should explore each of
the genres within which Kureishi works (novels, plays, screenplays, films,
short stories, essays and music criticism). I am particularly interested
in receiving contributions that take new approaches to his best-known
works and that explore facets of his oeuvre that have, as yet, received

This is an addendum to the call for papers sent out a few weeks ago
(see below).

The proposed theme for volume 17 (2007) of the Shakespeare Yearbook
will be Shakespeare and the Supernatural. The issue will be co-edited
by Douglas A. Brooks, General Editor of the journal, and Jesse M.
Lander, Notre Dame. All papers and abstracts/proposals for papers
submitted for the Kalamazoo session (see below) will be forwarded to
the journal for consideration. The Shakespeare Yearbook is a broadly
based, peer-reviewed international annual of scholarship relating to
Shakespeare, his time, and his impact on later periods.

I am currently seeking contributors for a new volume in the Dictionary
of Literary Biography series. This volume will be the first one in the
series to focus on Nineteenth-Century British Dramatists.

The assignments vary in length from 5,000-12,000 words, but should all
combine a bio-bibliographical narrative with a critical assessment of
the author's works.
