conference on irresponsibility in literature. The

The Academic Anglophone Society of Romania seeks contributions for the forthcoming issue of its journal,
American, British and Canadian Studies. In September, ABC will be publishing a Special Issue focusing on The
Spaces between and betwixt: Border crossing, Cultural Translation and the Subject of English. We are thus calling
for submissions on any relevant topic in linguistics, literary and cultural studies involving translation theory
and practice, including theoretical interventions, creative-critical essays on emergent subfields, and

domain of stylistics about how to define this field of
investigation. This same debate most recently arose at our last
gathering in Huddersfield (July 2005). How has stylistics
evolved since the early 1970s? How do we define "stylistics"

Texas A&M University - Commerce will hold the 15th Annual English Graduates
for Academic Development (EGAD) conference on October 27, 2006. Submissions

This year's keynote speaker is George Getschow, Mayborn
Writer-in-Residence at the University of North Texas. He is also former
bureau chief of the Wall Street Journal for Dallas and Houston. In 1983, he
