A CALL FOR AUTHORS:

AMERICAN CULTURE THOUGH HISTORY is a series of
books edited by Ray B. Browne and Larry Kreiser for The
Greenwood Press. The Editors hereby solicit suggested book
topics for the 16-book series. Authors will have 15 to 24 months
to complete their manuscripts.

The stated mission of the series is to provide an overview of American
popular culture through the eras and decades of our history so that teachers
and student will be able to observe trends in the many areas
listed below and to learn how each evolved into the popular culture
or our time.

Topics are by period:

Colonial
The Revolutionary War
The New Nation
Westward Expansion
The Civil War and Reconstruction
Industrial Development and the Gilded Age
One volume per decade for the Twentieth Century

Contents will include essays on the following at
        a length of 10,000 words:

Advertising
Architecture
Dance
Drama & Film
Fads
Fashions
Food
Games
Toys and hobbies
Literature
Music
Visual Arts
Sources for further study.
