The editorship of _Restoration: Studies in English Literary Culture,
1660-1700_ is passing from the capable hands of Jack Armistead
at Tennessee Tech to J. Douglas Canfield at the University of Arizona
beginning with vol. 26, no. 1 (Spring 2002).

The editor and board welcome submissions of scholarly and critical essays
on any subject, using any convincing method, so long as they significantly
contribute to our understanding or enjoyment of English literary
culture of the period 1660-1700. While preferring essays of
between 5000-7500 words, the editorial board will evaluate any
well-written argument that falls within the above guidelines. The journal
wishes to encourage young scholars; however, seminar papers and
dissertation chapters should be revised in consultation with a mentor or
director to conform in sophistication and length to the expectations of an
"academic article." Submissions should be made in duplicate, accompanied
by a SASE, and addressed to:

RESTORATION has historically published announcements, projects, notes,
news, and queries, and will continue to do so. We will also continue to
publish the valuable section: "Some Current Publications," an annotated
bibliography of recently published articles and books. Those interested in
compiling the section should query the editor and supply a reference to
verify the candidate's qualifications and reliability.
