Americana: The Institute for the Study of American Popular Culture
(1900-present) is dedicated to the art of semiotic analysis and is
comprised of two major divisions. The first division is a website at
americanpopularculture.com featuring articles written by fellows in our
Think Tank for a mainstream audience. The second division, and the one
for which we are publishing this call for papers, is a peer-reviewed
academic journal targeted to an academic audience; it will be published
as a link on americanpopularculture.com.

If you are interested in submitting an article for publication in the
inaugural edition of Americana: The Journal of American Popular Culture
(1900-present), spring 2002, please send it to
editor_at_americanpopularculture.com and consider the following guidelines:

1) Articles must be attached to a brief cover letter (containing the
name, institutional affiliation, and contact information of the author),
and both must be formatted in Microsoft Word.

2) Articles must adhere to MLA format.

3) Articles must be analytical and focus on some element of twentieth or
twenty-first century American popular culture.

4) Articles must be 2000-4000 words in length.

5) Because the Advisory Board of Americana: The Journal of American
Popular Culture practices blind review, articles must not contain the
name of the author or any reference to the author.

6) For consideration in the inaugural spring 2002 edition, please submit
by October 15, 2001.
