CFP: Contemporary British Writers (book series)
SERIES ANNOUNCEMENT
CONTEMPORARY BRITISH WRITERS
CALL FOR PROPOSALS
Manchester University Press is proud to announce the launch of a new
series dedicated to the critical appraisal of recent British fiction.
The Contemporary British Writers Series will reflect the breadth and
diversity of writing in Britain over the last thirty years, and will
provide critical evaluations of established, emerging and neglected
authors. Building on the success of the Press's Contemporary World
Writers, this series offers an exciting opportunity for the
interrogation of notions of the contemporary and for the analysis of
current and developing modes of representation.
Edited by Daniel Lea (Liverpool John Moores University), the series will
reflect both the growing body of academic research in the field, and,
the increasing prevalence of contemporary British literature courses in
institutions of higher education around the world. Volumes in this
series are intended, therefore, for the
research/postgraduate/undergraduate market and proposals should
accommodate the needs of this audience.
In the first instance proposals are sought for volumes on the following
authors:
Beryl Bainbridge
Iain Banks
Pat Barker
Anthony Burgess
A.S. Byatt
Ian McEwan
Brian Moore
Irvine Welsh
The Press are keen to receive proposals for manuscripts (c.80,000 words)
on writers other than the above, and, on proposals for anthology
volumes. Please send proposals, questions or expressions of interest to:
Dr Daniel Lea, School of Media, Critical and Creative Arts, Dean Walters
Building, Liverpool John Moores University, St James Road, Liverpool, L1
