CFP: Graduate Student Life (website)
Graduate-Student.com is a new site focused on humanities graduate
students who are looking for information on writing the
thesis\dissertation, looking for cheap airfare sites or searching for
E-reources on African American Literature, Science Fiction, American
Literature, on-line e-texts, etc.
We need Student writings on how to publish, how to write the
thesis\dissertation, living on a shoestring budget
* Searching for first-year students (or students doing their
assistantship for the first year) to do an on-line journal of their
exploits
* Need students to compile lists of their 'favorite' books i.e. books
that helped them get through graduate school or assisted in the
professional process i.e. 'how to write the thesis' books
* Looking for professors (preferably assistants) to write a monthly
'tips' or 'I remember when' column tellings students abour their own
struggles and warding them off from future difficulties
Other paper suggestions include:
* The difficulties of the African-American student in graduate school
* If submitting to E-Journals is legitimate
* Maintaing a social life in the midst of academic demands
* The graduate student vs. the undergraduate
* making the humanities degree work in a professional\technical arena
