Americana: The Institute for the Study of American Popular Culture
(1900-present) announces its call for papers and commentary for its
newsletter (an informal forum for American popular culture enthusiasts),
its main site (containing op-ed style articles), and its peer-reviewed
e-journal Americana: The Journal of American Popular Culture (1900-present).

The newsletter and main site have no deadline; we have a rolling
submissions policy. For consideration in the Spring 2003 edition of the
journal, however, submissions must be received by 15 March 2003. Please
see the recent fall 2002 edition at http://www.americanpopularculture.com
for examples of the kinds of articles we are interested in publishing.

While newsletter and main site submissions have no restrictions, those
submitting to the journal should consider the following guidelines:

   1. Articles must be attached to a brief cover letter in the email text
(containing the author's name, institutional affiliation, and contact
information). Please format in Microsoft Word.

   2. Articles must follow MLA guidelines.

   3. Articles must be analytical and focus on some element of twentieth
or twenty-first century American popular culture.

   4. Articles must be 3000-5000 words in length.

   5. Because the Advisory Board of Americana practices blind review,
articles must not contain the name of the author or any reference to the
author.

Please send all submissions and inquiries to editor_at_americanpopularculture.com.

Submitters must be members of Americana: The Institute for the Study of
American Popular Culture (1900-present) located at
http://www.americanpopularculture.com
