CFP: Milton and Popular Culture (6/1/03; collection)

full name / name of organization:
Gregory M. Colon Semenza

CFP: Volume: _Milton and Popular Culture_, ed. Gregory M. Colon
Semenza and Laura L. Knoppers.

While studies of literature and popular culture have in recent years
transformed Shakespeare scholarship, Miltonists have all but completely
ignored the numerous appropriations and engagements of Milton's poetry in
film, television, music, and other popular cultural forms.  We are
accepting submissions for a volume on the topic of _Milton and Popular
Culture,_ which we will be putting together over the next year or so.
We are asking for detailed abstracts (500 words) and c.v.'s by June 1,
2003, so that we can begin circulating a prospectus to appropriate
presses. Complete papers would be due by May 1, 2004.

Please email abstracts and c.v.'s to Greg Semenza at
semenza_at_uconn.edu.
