A contributor is sought for a volume of the Dictionary of Literary
Biography to write an entry on the short fiction of J.G. Ballard (6000
words).
Potential contributors should contact the editors of the volume, David
Malcolm and Cheryl Alexander Malcolm, as soon as possible at
angmd_at_univ.gda.pl
Contributors should include a brief professional cv and give their
present affiliation.

SYLVIA TOWNSEND WARNER'S FICTION. Essays of approximately 5000 words are
invited on any aspect of Sylvia Townsend Warner's fiction. Essays may
consider the relationship of her non-fiction writing to her fiction.
Essays are to be published as a second volume of the Underratings series
on underrated British and Irish novelists. The first volume on Ronald
Firbank's fiction will be published by The Edwin Mellen Press in 2003.
Send 500 word abstracts by 1 August 2003 to the editors: Gill Davies

Editors seeking articles for a proposed book-length collection entitled
Performing Maternity in Early Modern England. Finished articles should be
between 5000-8000 words (detailed proposals will be considered), and should
explore the representation of early modern English maternity and the extent
to which it became a locus of concern socially, culturally, religiously,
poetically, narratively, and dramatically.

encyclopedia of twentieth-century British poetry. The ideal author will have

The Journal for the Academic Study of Magic (JSM), a multidisciplinary, =
peer-reviewed print publication, is seeking submissions for its second =
annual edition, to be published in Spring 2004. Scholarly articles of up =
to 8000 words, written in English, plus shorter book reviews (up to 800 =
words) and the like are welcomed. We aim to cover all areas of magic, =
witchcraft, paganism etc; all geographical regions and all historical =
periods, and we encourage articles from postgraduates, tenured academics =
and freelance writers alike, using an academic style.
