CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

College Literature is seeking scholarly articles for publication in an
upcoming special issue of this journal devoted to “Celluloid Classics.” We
invite you to submit a paper for consideration.

College Literature, published by West Chester University in West Chester
Pennsylvania, is a refereed journal devoted to the examination of literary
texts and their relation to other art forms. Focus on quality,
originality, and good scholarship has resulted in College Literature being
cited over a half dozen times by the Council of Editors of Learned
Journals as one of the leading scholarly journals in the USA. More

Papers on any aspect of Greek and Roman history and mythology in modern
film are eligible for consideration. Possible topics include (but are not
limited to): film versions of ancient myths; modern adaptations of
classical material in film; the classical heroic figure in modern film;
ancient history or historical fiction in modern film; classical mythology
and children's film; and consideration of the relationship between the
classic toga movie and more recent ancient-themed films. Papers should be
between 8000-10000 words.

Submissions should be received by October 1, 2003. Appropriate articles
will be forwarded to College Literature’s national board for final
selection.
