Hemingway and Faulkner (book collection)
The Sound and Fury of Literary Competition: Essays on William Faulkner and
Ernest Hemingway
Essays comparing the works, lives, critical receptions and cultural
trajectories of Ernest Hemingway and William Faulkner are invited to
comprise a possible book collection. This potential collection has no
connection to The Hemingway Review. Essays can take on a variety of
approaches and involve a variety of themes, though central to each must be
questions of the relationship between Hemingway and Faulkner as literary
competitors in twentieth century America. Initial inquires and papers,
emailed as MS Word attachments, should be sent to Randy Boyagoda, English
Department, Boston University (boyagoda_at_bu.edu). Papers should be
approximately 20 pp. with notes and Works Cited and conform to MLA style
guidelines. Papers must be submitted no later than November 15, 2003. Hard
copies can be mailed to the address below.
