CALL FOR CONTRIBUTORS

         The editors of the two-volume Encyclopedia of Women's
Autobiography, to be published by Greenwood Press in 2005, are expanding
their list of entries with the addition of more entries on Women's
Autobiography from specific geographic regions and countries. Scholars are
invited to contribute one or more entries from the following list, which is
arranged in alphabetical order:

Chinese Women's Autobiography (1500 words)
Eastern European Women's Autobiography (2000 words)
French Women's Autobiography (2000 words)
German Women's Autobiography (2000 words)
Greek Women's Autobiography (1500 words)
Italian Women's Autobiography (1500 words)
Japanese Women's Autobiography (1500 words)
Middle Eastern Women's Autobiography (2000 words)
Philippine Women's Autobiography (1000 words)
Russian Women's Autobiography (2000 words)
Scandinavian Women's Autobiography (1500 words)
South Asian Women's Autobiography (1500 words)
Spanish Women's Autobiography (1500 words)

In addition, several of the original entries are once again open for new
contributors. They are:

Embodiment (2000 words)
Gornick, Vivian (1000 words)
Identity (1000 words)
Latin American Women's Autobiography (4000 words)
Memoir (1000 words)
Olds, Sharon (1000 words)

If you would like to participate in this project, please let us know soon,
by email. Indicate your second and third choices as well because we may
have already assigned your first choice to someone else.

Along with the confirmation of your assignment, we will mail you details on
the format of the entry as well as a sample entry. Complete manuscripts
are due by May 1, 2004. There is a modest honorarium and a complimentary
copy of the two-volume encyclopedia, at the time of its publication, for
entries of 4000 words or longer. For entries under 4000 words, there will
be a complimentary copy of the two-volume encyclopedia (tentatively priced
at $200).
