                                  POSTGRADUATE ENGLISH:
A Journal and Forum for Postgraduates in English in the UK and Europe

Invites postgraduates studying in the UK and Europe to submit papers of not
more than 7000 words on a topic of YOUR CHOICE in the broad range of English
Studies for issue 9 (March 2004) of our refereed online journal. Papers
must conform to the MLA guidelines for presentation and be received no later
than

                                        JANUARY 15, 2004.

PLUS we invite you to send us 500 word papers on the status of the PhD in
your own context for the NEW SECTION of our journal on POSTGRADUATE LIFE.
You might question how contemporary society has had an effect on the reasons
people study for a PhD or difficulties in the job market in your area.

Check out our Journal’s ARTICLES to view previous papers, and take part in
our FORUM, which deals with many of the issues facing postgraduates such as
jobs, research, conferences, publishing and teaching tutorials, all on our
website at:

                       www.dur.ac.uk/postgraduate.english/journal1.htm

Papers should be sent to the journal's new editors Michael Huxtable and
Anita O'Connell at OUR NEW EMAIL ADDRESS:
                                   pgeng.submissions_at_durham.ac.uk.
