Call for submissions: Location, Location, Location: The Significance of
Place in Film and Video. Please submit essays to be considered for
inclusion in an anthology whose general theme is the use of actual places
as locations in film/video/tv. Submissions are sought from practitioners in
the fields of film/media studies, art and architectural history, sociology,
history, urban studies, geography, etc. The aim of the book is to consider
the role of place in film and video; viz., how actual places, documented by
a moving image, act as signifying elements inside those images; how they
serve to structure the semantic. aesthetic, historiographic, political
elements of a given film or video. Essays should be between 5,000-9,000
words in length, including foot/endnotes and bibliography. Please send
