SCALE is seeking PDF submissions for Issue 5, which will focus on
collaborative practices within the Humanities. This issue will be
published in parallel with the interdepartmental CVS project (Concurrent
Versioning Systems; cvsbook.ucsd.edu) and the intercollegiate Southern
California Exhibition, Supersonic (http://www.artcenter.edu/supersonic/)
held this year at the Pasadena Art Center. The CVS project explores many
of the current trends in open-model collaborative techniques, from OSS
communities to more traditional models of scholarly research. On a
similar note, Supersonic will showcase examples of intercollegiate
cooperation within the contemporary practices of emerging artists in
Southern California.

Per SCALE's monthly invitation, and in seeking to constantly explore the
diviersity of voices and plurality of visions, Scale regular contributer
Neil Stuber will be our featured guest editor. Neil Stuber
(www.neilstuber.com) brings his expertise, talent and vision to the
composition of SCALE No.5. Neil Stuber adds: "You have been making great
work. Those sketches you've been doing on the bus are great. Your
writing is fabulous. Why don't you stop hording it and get it published!
Thats right, your name in print! You can do it! Post your work at
http://scale.ucsd.edu and I'll personally see to it that we change the
world." Neil Stuber enjoys working with motion graphics, vectors, street
design, his akai beat sequencer, and good people. He is graduating from
the University of California, San Diego in June of 2004 with an MFA. He
received a BFA in New Media from the Kansas City Art Institute (KCAI) in
2002.

will most likely be reformatted to fit our new design guidelines.
