Victorians Institute Journal call for papers for a special feature in
Volume 32.

Poetry in the Empire

For a forthcoming special feature, the Editors of Victorians Institute
Journal invite submissions of scholarly essays on any aspect of poetry
within the British colonies during the Victorian era.

In addition, we plan on publishing a small anthology of hitherto
unrepublished poems from colonial poets, culled from magazines or books
published outside England in the nineteenth century. Scholars are
invited to submit poems for consideration, with a brief headnote giving
information about the venue or author, if known.

Essays should be prepared according to MLA format.

Deadline: 1 September 2004.
