Marta Bolognani and Tina Basi from the University of Leeds are accepting
abstracts and proposals for a collection of essays focussed on the experiences
of young women researchers abroad.

The collection of essays will centre on themes concerning the intertwining of
gender research and research reflexivity with the overall aim to provide
suggestions to new researchers and to stimulate discussion on international
gender issues for other women preparing to do their fieldwork away from the
home community. All aspects of research deontology, methodology, theory and its
practicalities will be relevant provided that the link with gender and gender
issues is central to the contribution. There are no restrictions in regards
style and approach and the aim is to have a wide variety of contributions.

Ideally we would like to collect twelve pieces of work by women of different
nationalities who have done research in Europe, Asia, the Americas and Africa.
Essays from young women (not yet established academics) from all different
fields of social research are welcome.

We invite anyone who may be interested to send a short abstract before 30th June
to Marta Bolognani (splmb_at_leeds.ac.uk). The abstract, like the following
contribution, will be welcomed either in English or in Italian (in the case of
the latter it will be translated into English).

would appreciate if you could forward this call. We are especially interested
in acquiring contributions from women of a nationality which hasn¡¦t been
represented in the following sketch of the proposal, as you can see Italians
are over-represented:
