Call for Papers: 'fame' - edited by P. David Marshall

Fame, by its definition, travels ethereally, beyond the parameters of any
particular person. It transforms the organization of news; it shifts the
focus of political and cultural debate, it defines whether a scandal has
sufficient significance to become a media event. This issue unravels the
contemporary and not so contemporary obsession with fame - in terms of
audiences, publics, individuals, fans, representations, slash-fictions,
persona, infamy, scandal, its negation - and invites you to explore a
particular dimension of fame?s transmogrification of our cultural
landscapes.

For the upcoming 'fame' issue of M/C Journal, we are inviting papers
between 1000 and 2000 words that critically examine the concept of 'fame'
from any perspective.

Guest Editor for 'fame':
P. David Marshall, Chair, Department of Communication, Northeastern
University, Boston

as a place of public intellectualism analysing and critiquing the meeting
of media and culture. Contributors are directed to past issues of M/C
Journal for examples of style and content, and to the submissions page for
comprehensive article submission guidelines. M/C Journal articles are blind
peer-reviewed.
