A Report from the Trenches:

Critical Pedagogy in Conservative Contexts

This summer's Crossroads in Cultural Studies Conference featured a
panel on the topic of critical pedagogy in conservative contexts which
drew a lot of interest. The panel prompted the editors of Cultural
Studies to create a special issue of the journal devoted to the
subject. The panel organizers seek additional submissions of essays
of varying lengths for this special issue. Essays may be full-length
articles (up to 8000 words) or shorter opinion or discussion pieces.
All theoretical and practical approaches are welcome.

Call For Papers for the inaugural issue of _Shakespeare_, the journal of
the British Shakespeare Association

Contributions are invited for the inaugural issue of a new journal
entitled _Shakespeare_ to be published by Routledge in 2005. The
journal will bring together Shakespeare scholarship and Shakespeare in
performance in order to open newly emergent debates across disciplines,
and will be published online twice a year and in a bound paper volume
comprising two issues once a year. For this inaugural issue
contributions on all topics and approaches to Shakespeare will be
considered. The articles selected will be peer-reviewed.

'Bush Culture' Review Series

Bad Subjects invites reviews (750-1000 words) or review essays (1000-3000 words) on music, books, comics, films, television, theater, art, street performance, or any cultural production associated with the political culture created by the current Bush administration. We will be especially interested in critical discussions of anti-Bush culture and their counter-politics.

Bad Subjects is a heterodox progressive journal located on the English Server (Iowa State University) at http://eserver.org/bs, with approximately 5000 readers daily. This review series will help inaugurate a new website for the journal to be unveiled on September 1, 2004.

pacific REVIEW, a west coast arts review annual,
showcases the work of emergent literati, pairing
their work with that of established scholars and
artists. Past issues boast the talents of Michele

Call for Content:

Alexander Street Press is seeking brief biographies of American Dramatists
in exchange for publishing credits. Bios need to be 500-800 words and will
be included in scholarly collections for electronic publication. Interested
