CFP: Women and Science Fiction (3/15/05; journal issue)
Fem-scape: A Special Edition of Reconstruction 5.4
Guest Editors: Ximena Gallardo C. and Kim Wells
The guest editors for Reconstruction 5.4 invite submissions on any aspect of women and science fiction, both in literature and film. Cultural criticism, theory, book and media reviews, and interviews will be considered for this special edition.
As its title indicates, Fem-scape aims to create a discursive space to explore a range of views on woman and science-fiction, including liminal issues, ruptures, and gaps in science fiction scholarship concerning feminist and gender issues. Thereby we are particularly interested in reviewing manuscripts that interrogate (a) science-fiction texts on women, women's issues, and gender issues as related to women's issues, and/or (b) science-fiction texts written by less-discussed women authors, and/or (c) science-fiction films directed by women.
In matters of citation, it is assumed that the proper MLA format will be followed. Other citation formats are acceptable in respect to the disciplinary concerns of the author. Additional information on the preparation of manuscripts for submission can be found at <www.reconstruction.ws/style.htm>.
