A special issue:
Gendered Space: Women and Architecture
_Women's Studies: An Interdisciplinary Journal_ is currently accepting
manuscripts for publication concerning the topic of women and
architecture. Women's Studies provides a forum for the presentation of
scholarship and criticism about women in the fields of literature,
history, art, sociology, law, political science, economics,
anthropology and the sciences. It also publishes poetry, film and book
reviews.
Inquistive, original, well-researched manuscripts engaging the role of
women and any form of gendered space are encouraged.
Artwork dealing specifically with women and their experiences in
architecture is also encouraged.
Example essay topics include:
Gender and the Modern Architect
Women and Art Deco
Memorialization and Representation: Women and Monuments
Objectivist Space: Ayn Rand and the (fe)male Architect
Manuscripts on these and any other of the many authors and texts
concering architecture will be welcomed.
Please send 3 copies of each manuscript, an abstract, and contact
information by Friday, June 20, 2003 to womstudj_at_cgu.edu or
