Papers related to hypnosis and other trance themes in literature, film, television, and popular culture are welcome. No deadline. Open submission policy journal.

Theory and Practice for Therapy, Education, Entertainment, and Recreation

Journal of Hypnotic Arts and Sciences is an online peer-reviewed journal published by the National Guild of Hypnotists. At least two issues per volume are published annually. The journal provides a forum for the discussion of hypnosis, NLP, trance, and changework and invites contributions in all areas of theory and practice for therapy, education, entertainment, and recreation. Formal and informal essays, articles, papers, and book reviews are also welcome.

This is a peer-reviewed open-submission journal. The journal encourages articles, essays, and formal papers on all manner of hypnosis and trance-related topics.

While this is an international journal, the language of publication is English. Submissions are accepted throughout the year. E-mail submissions are accepted at phillips_at_nccu.edu.tw. Hardcopy submissions should be sent, in triplicate and a softcopy on CD to:

Journal of Hypnotic Arts publishes one volume per year, with two issues per volume. Both Microsoft Word (6.0 or above) and txt files are acceptable. Manuscripts will be sent to two reviewers immediately. The author(s) of accepted papers may receive NGH Continuing Education Credits when the paper is accepted.

1. Manuscripts submitted to Journal of Hypnotic Arts and Sciences should follow the style sheet of MLA Handbook (5th edition) as appropriate.
2. If your submission has notes, please use footnotes, not endnotes.
3. The font used is Times New Roman (12pt).
4. Use a separate sheet to include your name, title, affiliated institution, and contact information (email).
5. Include a brief summary or abstract of the submission.
