CFP: The Deceiver (grad) (4/1/05; journal issue)
The Frontenac Review is now accepting graduate student papers for its next
issue entitled "The Deceiver." We invite 15- to 20-page studies of
deceiver figures as they appear as principal or secondary characters in
any work(s) of literature. All approaches are welcome. Papers will be in
English or French and must follow the MLA format.
Possible topics include but are not limited to:
Greek and Roman literature, the servus callidus
The Commedia dell'Arte
The Picaro
The Seducer: Don Juan, the Libertine etc.
Shakespeare, Marlowe, Webster
17th-Century French drama
The Federfuchser in 19th-Century German drama
Jewish literature
The Native American Trickster
Women who deceive
Deception and class relations
Please send ONE (1) electronic copy (on diskette or by e-mail attachment,
in Microsoft Word format) and THREE (3) hard copies, one of which must be
anonymous, to the following address no later than Friday, April 1, 2005:
