CFP: The Young Armenian Woman (2/15/05; journal issue)
CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
Guidelines for submission to Kanayq Hayots Journal,
published by Kanayq Hayots Women's Resource Center of
Yerevan State University, Armenia.
Deadline: February 15, 2005.
Kanayq Hayots Journal invites original, critical
graduate student essay submissions that explore the
role of the young Armenian woman in her community, her
activities and visions for the future.
Papers should be in English or Armenian. The Journal
is bilingual and the essays will appear in both
languages, translated by professional translators. We
encourage papers that cross genre barriers and extend
the reach of social study into new media. Papers
should be no longer than 3000 words and include proper
citations and documentation (MLA style for papers in
English).
Contributions for the journal are reviewed with the
understanding that they have not been submitted to
another journal. The title of the forthcoming issue of
Kanayq Hayots Journal is "The Young Armenian Woman:
Changing Values in a Changing Society."
We are seeking papers on the following rubrics:
1. The young Armenian woman's social role and its
conceptualization
2. The young Armenian woman and family
3. The young Armenian woman and education
4. The young Armenian woman and her professional
goals: In the work field
5. The young Diasporan Armenian woman and her role
6. The role of the young Armenian woman in the women's
global movement; her goals and objectives
7. Women's confessions (essays/interviews with
exceptional women)
All submissions should be sent via e-mail as an
MS-Word attachment to Shushan Avagyan at
savagya_at_ilstu.edu. Submissions must be accompanied by
a standard cover sheet, including a 100-word abstract,
and a short bio including name, address, telephone,
email address, school affiliation, and current
academic standing. (Only papers by currently enrolled
graduate students and doctoral candidates will be
considered).
