Revision and Revelation in Contemporary British

Adrienne Rich has described "re-vision" as "an act of
survival." Lit: Literature Interpretation Theory is
currently soliciting submissions for an upcoming
special issue, guest edited by Mara Reisman,
University of Connecticut, on contemporary British
women writers (1960-present) who are rewriting
familiar and established narratives. We are
especially interested in essays that ground the
literature in a cultural or historical analysis of
women's fiction and women writers. Other issues of
interest include language, madness, rebellion, and
power. Authors may include, but are not limited to A.
S. Byatt, Angela Carter, Margaret Drabble, Doris
Lessing, Muriel Spark, Fay Weldon, and Jeanette
Winterson. Submissions range from 5,000 to 10,000
words and must use MLA citation style. Send three
copies to Regina Barreca, Editor, Lit: Literature
Interpretation Theory, Department of English, 215
Glenbrook Rd., Box 4025, University of Connecticut,
Storrs, CT, 06269-4025, USA. Deadline for
submissions: November 1, 2005.
