CFP: Medieval Comics (7/15/05; PCA/ACA, 4/12/06-4/16/06)
The Comics Get Medieval 2006
Proposals are now being accepted for papers on any aspect of comics
(comic strips, comics books, graphic novels, panel cartoons, etc.)
featuring medieval themes for inclusion at a panel and roundtable to be
sponsored by the Arthurian Legends Area, the Comics Area, and the
Medieval Popular Culture Area of the Popular Culture Association for the
36th Annual Meeting of the Popular Culture Association at the Atlanta
Marriott Marquis Hotel, Atlanta, Georgia, from April 12 - 16, 2006.
Please address all inquiries and proposals to Michael A. Torregrossa at
either <KingArthurForever_at_att.net> or 34 Second Street, Smithfield, RI
02917-3627. A select list of potential topics and a bibliographic guide
to medieval comics appears as part of The Medieval Comics Project
<http://www.MedievalComicsProject.org>. Submissions are also be
considered for inclusion in an essay collection on medieval comics.
Completed papers should be delivered in 15-20 minutes. Please submit
abstracts of 250 words maximum to panel organizer by 15 July 2005. I
will forward them to the respective area chairs.
Membership in the PCA is required for participation; details will be
sent from the area chair with letters of acceptance.
