CFP: Rutgers University-Camden English Graduate Student Conference

Re-visioning the Canon

Rutgers-Camden English Graduate Student Association (RCEGSA) invites papers
from graduate students for an interdisciplinary conference on the theme of
"Re-visioning the Canon". Papers may demonstrate a wide range of approaches
including, but not restricted to:

Children's literature
Gothic Literature
Multicultural approaches
Theory and criticism's place in the "canon"
Feminist readings/additions
Comparative literature
Pedagogical approaches to teaching beyond the traditional canon.

The one day conference will be held on March 25, 2006 from 8:30am-7pm. We
are delighted to have as our keynote speaker Dr. Ulrich Knoepflmacher of
Princeton University, who will be tackling our theme from a variety of
approaches, including his specialty of children's literature. Best paper
awards will be announced at the end of the day during the dinner hour
(6-7pm) so plan on staying to find out if your paper has been selected.
Potential panelists are asked to restrict their papers to 15 minutes
(generally about 8-10 pages).

MLA format is preferred. Completed papers or 500 word abstracts (completed
papers must be in by January 21 in order to be considered for a best paper
award) should be sent by January 21, 2006 to
