CFP: World's Fairs & Expositions (10/15/05; PCA/ACA, 4/12/06-4/15/06)
CALL FOR PROPOSALS: SESSIONS, PANELS, PAPERS:
WORLD'S FAIRS & EXPOSITIONS
NATIONAL POPULAR CULTURE & AMERICAN CULTURE ASSOCIATIONS
2006 JOINT CONFERENCE
April 12 – 15, 2006
Atlanta Marriott Marquis
For more information on the PCA/ACA, please go to http://www.h-net.org/~pcaaca.
DEADLINE: OCTOBER 15, 2005
We are considering proposals for sessions organized around a theme, special panels, and/or individual papers. Sessions are scheduled in 1½ hour slots, ideally with four papers or speakers per standard session.
If you submit a paper, you will be placed on a panel. The section interests include any aspect of world fairs and international exhibitions, back to 1851: garden expositions,
centennial celebrations, and any aspect of the fair culture. Controversy will not be shunned!
The World's Fairs and Expositions section has been an active part of the Popular Culture Association national conferences since 1992 and looks forward to another active and successful meeting in Atlanta 2006. Hope you can join us!
Should you or any of your colleagues be interested in submitting a proposal or have any questions, please contact one of the area chairs (see below). Please e-mail or send contact information, with title and a short description of your proposal, by October 15, 2005, to:
