FILM ADAPTATION CALL FOR PAPERS for the 2006 Popular Culture Association =
(PCA)/ American Culture Association (ACA) conference in Atlanta, Georgia =
from April 12th to April 16th:

If you have an idea, I want to see it! Film Adaptation includes =
anything from adapted novels and short-stories to graphic novels, comic =
books, history, musicals, plays, poetry, biography, autobiography, =
legend, and more! Film adaptation is a rapidly growing area of =
scholarly interest and research as Hollywood continues to evolve film =
into a twenty-first century mythology--larger-than-life vibrant, dynamic =
images interpreting and reinterpreting the human condition--and like the =
mythology of the Greeks, Hollywood film mythology of the twenty-first =
century influences the audience and society greatly in terms of =
expectations on how to live life everyday with family to more complex =
issues with politics and religion....

Unusual ideas are always welcome--the 2005 conference had =
well-researched presentations as diverse as adaptations of ADAPTATION, =
the Charlie Kaufman film to studies on Frankenstein, Harry Potter, =
Superhero/comics, classic literature, and much, much more!

Proposals invited for, but not limited to, the following areas of film =
adaptation:

-BIOPICS (Kevin Spacey's film on Bobby Darin, The Aviator, Ray, etc.)
