The Cultural Studies Caucus welcomes proposal for this year's
panel discussion at ASECS in Montreal, March 30-April 2, 2006,
"Visualizing Culture."

This session will feature cultural studies work that rethinks
visual practices in eighteenth- century studies. What is the
role of visual perception / projection in the production of
cultural forms and ideologies? Papers are invited that
consider the role of the visual in a range of
eighteenth-century contexts, includingâ€"but not limited
toâ€"print media, aesthetic theories, popular forms, racial,
national, and global politics, sexual and erotic practices,
and emergent disciplines. Contributions may likely center on
theater, art, science, literature, politics, medicine,
history, music, economics, and so forth.
