Abstracts are invited for the following panel:
*Lifting the Thin Veil: Autobiographic Fictions and Films*. Instead of the=

memoir, some writers have chosen to present their lives or eyewitness=20
accounts in fictional forms: for example in novels like *The Grass Harp* an=
d=20
*Slaughterhouse-Five*, on stage in *After the Fall* and in films like
*Deconstructing
Harry* and *Almost Famous*. Papers will interrogate the author's choice to=
=20
"veil" their accounts as autofiction, examining the text's success and=20
limitations as both fiction and memoir. Please send an abstract (250-500=20
words) by September 15, 2005 to Elizabeth Abele: abelee_at_ncc.edu .
