THE NINTH ANNUAL RED RIVER CONFERENCE ON WORLD LITERATURE
APRIL 21 -23, 2006

Nation and Narration
We invite papers and panel proposals on topics that investigate any of the
following topics. While we are particularly interested in proposals that
focus on the conference theme, papers and panels on all aspects of world
literature will be considered.
Possible topics include, but are not limited to:
* First World / Third World
* Individual and National Self_Legitimization
* Language Borderlands
* Neo_colonialism / Post_colonialism
* Discourses of Power
* Diasporic Writings and Writers
* Exile and Return
* Expatriates and Travelers
* Cultural Complexities
* Poetics of Privilege
* Voices in a textual Commons
Individual presenters should submit a 250_word abstract; include your name,
complete mailing address, and e_mail address. Proposals for panels must
include an abstract for each presenter, as well as names, addresses and
e_mail addresses of all participants. Abstracts submitted as e_mail
attachments in Word or Word Perfect are preferred but hard copies will also
be accepted.
